Lees Performance
Every now and then we’ll get a project that just scratches the itch. Lees Performance for us was just that. Cars, technology, tuning, tweaking things, and a smattering of digital fun to be had; sounds fantastic
Lees Performance, based in Sunderland is a performance tuning specialist with an incredibly strong reputation within their respective field. They’ve been on an upwards trajectory since day one, quite simply because of their vast knowledge and expertise in what they do. With an incredibly strong online presence with hundreds of five star reviews, and aspirations to head into global markets it was a really exciting time for us to get on board and be a part of the process
A still from their 3D advertising campaign we created
The first thing we did was to sit with them to completely evaluate their current website. Where it was working and performing, where it fell down and more importantly where we could improve it. Their current website was working, but had been built on and built on, with elements shoe-horned in as and when they were introduced into the business, and overall was lacking a full customer journey from start to finish
Compounding the issue was their need to market, advertise and subsequently sell to both the general public and trade customers
We drew out and went through various different ways of giving all of the customers the information they needed whilst trying to simplify every step along the way. We ended up landing on an entirely split website design. Their landing page capturing whether the customer was the general public or trade, and then presenting the relevant content and products to them. This method involved a really heavily complicated build process, but the end result means that there’s no confusion between the two subsets of customers and the content that they’re reading, make sense to them. Confusing your customers is something we see all the time with our clients. Just because you know what you’re saying, doesn’t always mean someone else will. It’s a common pitfall and really easy to fall into, and it doesn’t necessarily need to just be through written text, a confusing customer journey can often leave potential customers thinking ” is what i’m looking at meant for me? “
An outsiders perspective is always really helpful, which is why we always recommend if our clients are to write their own copy for their website, to first run it past a friend or family member that perhaps doesn’t understand your business or process. If it makes sense to them, you’re onto a winner
After setting up a whole new multi-site we then looked at how to make it accessible. Because of the remote nature of the industry side of their business, overseas targeting was high on their agenda in terms of marketing, so naturally, integrating a language selector to automagically translate the full site was a must
Since the site went live they’ve seen a healthy uptake in organic custom which is always great to see, and we’re now in the depths of putting together marketing strategies to target various different demographics and countries
That’s not where it ends with Lees Performance though. We’ve built a solid foundation and partnership together and along with completely overhauling their digital presence have helped them with various things from large format sign design for their new unit, vinyl stickers to brand various tools and equipment, 3D video animation for online campaigns, social media graphics and even various product photography shoots
